Considered one of the best trekking options in Brazil, the Pati has numerous attractions including overnight options in local inhabitants’ houses and the opportunity to taste excellent food.

• 1st day: The tour starts with an 18 km walk in the impressive landscape of the Capão Valley bound for the Pati Valley. The Pati is located in the centre of Chapado Diamantina, hidden between the mountain ranges of Andaraí and Guiné. You will spend the first night in the Igrejinha (small church) where there are two small buildings that function as a shelter for eco-tourists.
• 2nd day: You will start a descent along the Funis River passing various waterfalls until you arrive at the Funis Waterfall. For those more physically fit, there is also the option to climb to the top of Gruta do Castelo (Castle Cave) which offers a stunning view of the valley.
• 3rd day: You will follow a trail that leads you to the top of a waterfall called Cachoeirão, located in a 300m high canyon. This ascent offers an impressive view that is even more spectacular during the rainy season when small waterfalls can be seen along the canyon’s rim. Before returning to a local inhabitant’s house to spend the night, you’ll stop for a swim at Gavião, a natural pool.
• 4th day: Today, you will take a lighter walk to the south end of the valley from where you will depart the following day, passing beautiful scenery and swimming holes along the way.
• 5th day: The last day in the valley begins with an ascent to the top of Serra do Império, offering an impressive view of the Paty Valley. You will then descend a trail to the town of Andaraí, from where you will return by car to Lençóis.
