Between the months of July and the end of October, humpback whales migrate to the coast of northeastern Brazil to mate, reproduce and raise their young. More than 11,000 humpback whales migrate to the coast of Bahia, making encountering these beautiful marine animals a normally easy job. The day begins with participants meeting the guide on the beachfront (Praia da Coroinha). From there, they walk to the square to meet the Biologist who will accompany the group on this adventure with the humpback whales. A 30-minute talk is given, which explains about the life and customs of whales, and about projects carried out on the coast of Brazil against the illegal hunting of these beautiful marine animals. After the lecture, all participants are taken to the boat and boarding begins. In the first few minutes after boarding, the captain gives some safety information on the boat and life jackets are given to all passengers (mandatory use). The boat then travels to the open sea and from there it is just a matter of enjoying the beautiful view of the sea and keeping an eye out for the beautiful humpback whales. With about 16 meters in length, they usually provide a great show, with their jumps and tails out of the water. An unmissable tour for anyone who is in Itacaré between the months of July and November.
