Chapada Diamantina

Chapada Diamantina is located in the central-western part of Bahia, 420 km from Salvador and 452 km from Itacaré. It combines unusual attractions such as the hiking trails of the Pati Valley and the Fumaça Waterfall, the largest free waterfall in Brazil. In addition, there are numerous other waterfalls such as Buracão, Fumacinha, Cachoeira do Roncador, do Sossego, Mandassaia, Mixila, etc. True spectacles of nature in the form of water and stone, always framed by the green of the forest and the blue of the sky. Here you will also find caves hollowed out by water over the millennia - an extra dose of adrenaline for your excursion. You can also visit Poços Azul and Encantado, caves with salty and crystal clear waters that reflect the blue of the sky, a true play of colors.

A rich biodiversity also characterizes Chapada Diamantina. You can find bromeliads, orchids, many evergreens, and also endemic species such as the tie-billed hummingbird and other bird species. You can also learn about its history and culture, based on the cycles of gold, diamonds and colonialism.

Chapada Diamantina National Park covers a total area of 1520 km² and consists of the municipalities of Lençóis, Palmeiras, Mucugê, Andaraí, Ibicoara and Igatu. These cities offer different options in terms of tours and services that make the region a complete destination.
